If you can get to a Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony-it is quite an experience. I have attended probably no less than 10.

Neal, I would see every year for about 5 years until one year I couldn't find him only to find he was on the current years list of those passed. He would tell me stories of Iwa Jima.

Zane Schlemmer. 101st also was in Battle of the Bulge. He landed in Piquaville and the town named a street after him. Rue Schlemmer. He lived in Hawaii so he was always out at Pearl Harbor Day.

How I ended up in Normandy. I was talking to this woman who was with Zane and she told me what the Normandy coast did and she was one of the organizers and that I could stay at her Chateau. She was the Countess of Sainte Marie Eglise. Sadly, Zane died just months before the 70th DDay anniversary.
